My research career spans over a decade, during which I have gained comprehensive experience in various aspects of plant molecular physiology, secondary metabolism, and gene expression analysis. One of my significant achievements includes my contribution to the development and application of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated mutagenesis in hop (Humulus lupulus), which resulted in impaired secondary metabolite accumulation (Awasthi et al., 2023). I have also conducted research in genome editing in banana and its impact on β-carotene biosynthesis (Awasthi et al., 2022). My publication record includes a total of 29 publications in reputed scientific journals, with an h-index of 15 and a citation count of 827. Throughout my academic and research journey, I have skills in various laboratory techniques, including protein expression and purification, HPLC, Plant tissue culture in monocot (banana) and dicot (legume, hop and model system arabidopsis). I am proficient in RNA-Seq data analysis, and my expertise extends to protein modeling and docking studies. Moreover, I have supervised and trained numerous students in their dissertation work, providing them with guidance and support to excel in their research endeavors.
